It has been a beautiful day yesterday, especially for the host club. New 420 European champions are their sailors, Matija Longin and Pavle Kostov. It is very intersting to see that only three countries took all the medals, three medals went to Italy and Great Britain and one stayed in Croatia. Wind from W-NW, 11-13 knots, yesterday provided some great races. It was a good day for Italians. They had a bad start, but as the days went by, they progressed step by step, and eventually took silver (Giovanni Pizziati and Michele Pavoni) and bronze (Mattia Pressich and Rachele Bua) medal in the men's competition. On the girl's leaderboard there were no changes yesterday. British girls Pippa Wilson and Harriete Trumble sailed the last race with their national flag on the top of the mast. Another British team, Alison Martin and Maia Walsh took the silver, and Italians Maria Stella Turizio and Maria Carolina Rendano bronze. In 6 days Race committe managed all scheduled races, 17 for men's fleet and 12 for women's fleet. Last start yesterday for men was given at last possible moment, 16:05. Celebration was huge, of course. Live band, fireworks, lots of food. SC Uskok received many thanks and praizes for a great event, some people said one of the best they've ever seen. That certainly feels good and encourages this club to nominate soon for another big event. Half of the fleet has gone already, next event is very soon – junior Europeans in Ireland.
